What’s my background? I have lived in 5 countries and attended 13 schools. Started off in Banking then moved into Information Technology (IT) and had many positions/roles in IT for most of my employed life.
I also have a diploma in Freelance Journalism (Australia).
We live in a complex of units – not in some mansion like you see on those flashy Clickbank sales pages.
No fancy car – ours goes from A to B very nicely and that’s all we need.
We prefer to spend our money on holidays such as cruises, Fiji etc.
Maybe you prefer the idea of the flashy cars, luxury mansion etc. Probably depends on your age and past experiences.
Yes, I did own a BMW and 2 Audi’s, at different times in the past, as well as a nice house. Long story.
To me, it’s more about travel than the material things in life now, because you can’t take that stuff with you. Memories and experiences are far more valuable and lasting.
This site is called “Reality Marketing” because, in reality, you only need a few trusted people and resources to succeed at this IM thing.
2017 is my 7th year of being an Internet Marketer and I can safely say that with each passing year it has become more and more difficult for people to make a living online.
The reason is there are just too many “shiny objects” and false information out there.
The problem is compounded by marketers, some with dubious funnel pricing and often using false scarcity…
That continuously sell “shiny objects” to new people trying to succeed online. They are lured into the so-called “Quick Solutions” that in reality took months to accomplish.
No wonder people are becoming skeptical and negative and even giving up the idea of making money online.
Anything that DOES actually make money fast (and yes, they do exist) will NOT LAST. You will never build a REAL business out of it. That’s the REALITY of it.
You and I are both real people with real lives and are on the same journey, doing our best to earn real money and build a real business working from home. And that, believe me, takes time and focus!
You need to follow a proven process that works.
When I first got started, I wanted to make money online, but I had no clue where to start.
So I continued searching, buying product after product, hoping to find a solution.
I would hazard a guess that you, like me, have wasted a lot of money buying shiny objects (many of which are garbage). In fact I am pretty sure you still do…
Let’s be real, even I still do it sometimes.
Don’t get me wrong, there are also good products out there, as well as a lot of ethical marketers.
So, if you are new to online marketing and tend to buy a lot of WSO’s (Warrior Special Offers) and/or JVZoo products… Check Out This Post
To those of you who are relatively new to Internet Marketing or haven’t made much money online yet…
I just want to say that you shouldn’t have to spend years before you make a decent income online. I totally understand that because it took me a few years to get to where I am now.
I know what it’s like to give it all you’ve got…
The long nights and weekends working…
And still have nothing to show for it. Been there, done that… and it was extremely frustrating.
I nearly gave up.
Thankfully I didn’t.
As I said, I have been doing this Internet Marketing thing for 7 years now.
I got started with good old blogging (Alternative Health) not really trying to make money – just a lot of research and trying to help others.
There was some income though, from Adsense and the occasional affiliate sale.
I later started building “XFactor” style micro niche sites. If you have been around long enough you’ll know exactly what I am talking about.
John (XFactor) and myself became good friends and I was a volunteer moderator on his 2 forums.
The “XFactor” method involved creating small, 1-5 page sites based around specific low competition keywords and easily ranking them in the search engines.
My Adsense income went up considerably as well as my Amazon affiliate income.
When Google decided to de-index these sites, I lost quite a bit of my income overnight.
I always diversify my income sources. I don’t put all my eggs into one basket, and nor should you.
I’m always working to make sure that if one of my income sources disappeared overnight, I would be able to live comfortably on the other sources.
In fact I strive to ensure I can live on any single source even if all the others stopped earning for whatever reason.
That’s why I promote products in a variety of niches via YouTube, Bing, Media Ads blogs and, of course, email lists.
The products and services I promote are mainly recurring income stuff. Other streams of income are mostly passive.
As I said, I do email marketing in a variety of niches, because that’s what works best for me personally.
Although, I’m in no way saying I make a fortune, or that I’m some kind or “Guru”.
I’m just an ordinary person trying to make a good living online – like you (unless you’re a Guru 😉 ).
